John ROBERT Egan
Director,
Refugee & Immigration Law Clinic
John Robert Egan is an experienced Immigration Lawyer and served as Chairperson of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Hawai’i Chapter in 2008-2009. He practiced as a private attorney concentrating in Immigration and Nationality Law here in Honolulu for nearly 20 years. During 1992-1995, he served with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in South Central Africa as Head of Field Office at Biera, Mozambique and as a Logistics Officer in Mozambique and Malawi. Prior to his service with the United Nations, he spent over five years as a volunteer in fundraising and community outreach for OXFAM America, a major humanitarian NGO.
ETHAN HIGA
Post-Graduate Law Fellow
Ethan Higa interned with the Refugee and Immigration Law Clinic during his second and third years of law school working to provide representation to asylum seekers. During his fellowship, Ethan is focusing on providing access to representation for the underserved immigrant community.

Catherine Chen
Catherine Chen is currently the Liman Public Interest Law Fellow at the MEDICAL-LEGAL PARTNERSHIP FOR CHILDREN IN HAWAII. Her focus is in the relatively new area of crimmigration. This past year, Catherine volunteered her time to work on an asylum case with The Refugee & Immigration Law Clinic.
Taylor S. Brack
Volunteer Attorney
During her first and second year of law school, Taylor did policy advocacy work with the Medical-Legal Partnership for the Micronesian community. A strong advocate for immigrant rights, she has focused her fellowship work on refugee women and children.
