RILC Attends Latino Night at Konawaena High School
Mahalo to the wonderful teachers at Konawaena High School for inviting RILC to be a part of Latino Night at the school!
These caring teachers put together an amazing evening with dinner, games, and prizes for Latino families with children in the high school and all of its feeder schools. The evening began with a presentation from the teachers with important information about the U.S. educational system for the families, many of whom are new to the country and unfamiliar with the system here.
Along with other local nonprofit organizations offering resources in Kona, RILC was happy to table at the event, meet families, and discuss the immigration legal services we provide.
Big thanks to Emilia Lubet, a UH Manoa undergraduate, for arranging this outreach opportunity. Thank you also to WSRSL staff Kara Teng ’17 and RILC students for representing the RILC at the event: Miah Bonilla ’25, Brissa Flores ’24, Casey Hearl ’24, Joshua Nam ’24, Ivette Olivares ’24, and Leeyannah Santos ’24. Your presence was an encouragement to the community!
