Yesterday was a very special wedding edition of RILC’s monthly Kona trip. After spending most of the day in client meetings, with Jennifer Hoshino ’25, Pilar Kam ’24, and Ivette Olivares ’24, we were honored to attend our client Iliana’s wedding. RILC law students and fellows over the years have served Iliana and her extended family, helping them obtain asylum, lawful permanent residency, and now citizenship. Our work forces us to get to know our clients first through their trauma, suffering, and fear. So it is truly a gift when we can share in these moments full of their love, joy, and hope. Ho’omaika’i and aloha to the couple and their family!
