On February 19, 2023, at the invitation of Harris United Methodist Church, RILC Director Esther Yoo spoke about the work of the Clinic and shared stories of the incredible journeys of several clients seeking asylum in Hawaii. Following the service, Esther along with Law Fellow Ethan Higa and Advisory Committee Chair Jan Tamura visited with members of the church’s generous Sanctuary Ministry who have been providing air and ground transportation, overnight accommodations, meals, and other support to many of the Clinic’s clients traveling to Honolulu for their appointments and court hearings.
